The different interests are grouped together by the Employees' Associations and Swissmem. The Collective Employment Agreement (CEA) for the MEM-Industries is negotiated between the Social Partners and improved for a further five-year period. The associations support and accompany the enterprises in putting the provisions into practice. The Social Partners discuss questions of common interest, establish joint institutions and prepare suitable information resources.
If the employees and employers can manage to agree on their wishes, needs and goals, the whole enterprise can assert itself and develop in the free market economy. Both parties are dependent on each other: No enterprise can succeed without qualified personnel, and employees cannot make earnings without enterprises
